The pan head screws w/ star washer are the essential “glue” for the Polaris 3900 Sport model cleaner. They provide a strong, long-lasting hold while being ultra-durable as well.
These screws were designed for the purpose of locking the axle assemblies into the frame of the cleaner allowing no movement that would potentially disrupt the cleaner’s maneuverability. The difference between theses screws and the others that are used to bind and hold for this cleaner is the lock washers that are required when installing them.
For the purpose of install, you want to hand tighten these screws as opposed to using a power drill. There is the potential for cracking or damaging the plastic on any other surrounding parts its to be installed around.
